Visit the Water Tower Building
The Water Tower Building, home to Coakley Brothers, is a historic cream city brick structure known for its iconic rooftop water tower sculpture. In addition to our office, the building houses our furniture showroom; interior design finish centers; full-time warehouse; and rentable office, training and community spaces.
Beautifully merging steel and stained glass
Brooklyn-based sculptor Tom Fruin created the vibrant Water Tower installation as a symbol of light and hope for our community. Peggy Coakley long sought to add something atop the company’s headquarters at 400 S. 5th Street. Upon seeing one of Fruin’s installations during a business trip to Brooklyn in 2016, Peggy’s first thought was “How can I bring this to Milwaukee?”

History of the Water Tower Building
The Water Tower Building bears witness to over 100 years of growth in our city. The building acts as a historic icon in the Walker’s Point neighborhood and a recognizable landmark in the evolving Milwaukee skyline.
Built in 1920, The Water Tower Building has been home to the headquarters of the Milwaukee Printing Company (Milprint) and C & H Distributors. It became the corporate headquarters of Coakley Brothers in 1995. We have been proud to be an anchor of the revitalization of Walker’s Point during our 30 years in the neighborhood.
